Born From a Different Path

Makepeace Web Design was founded by product designer and visionary entrepreneur Matthew Makepeace. The tech industry, along with many industries, shifted hard in the twenty-twenties. Layoffs multiplied. Talented people scrambled for roles and titles, chasing the next corporate position. Matthew took a different path. With UX/UI expertise under his belt, he started taking on freelance projects, and realized that he could build something better than getting stuck in a pool of many people chasing after job postings.

What began as focused web design has evolved into a full-service digital partner: branding, e-commerce, photography, and social media. We've built Makepeace Web Design on real skills and real results, not guesses. Today, our mission is simple: small businesses deserve digital work from someone who actually knows their craft.

Meet Matthew

I'm Matthew Makepeace, founder of Makepeace Web Design — a solo studio in Toronto built on one idea: small businesses deserve websites that actually work for them. Growing up with autism taught me to see patterns and how things fit together — a skill that shaped my path from Game Programming to creative strategy. Today, I bring that same logic-meets-design mindset to web design, e-commerce, branding, and ongoing management. I handle everything myself, so I know your site inside and out.
